As I have watched my daughter grow I have seen the impact that having printed pieces has made on her. She is the one who started the most beautiful tradition with her printed album of baby photos. When she was little she loved to hear me read stories to her as she got older and saw her album she would ask me to tell her the story about her! Eventually it became a tradition she started that we do every year on her birthday. Still as a teen she will grab the album and want to hear the celebration story of how she was born. Now that she is a teen I have asked her if she knew where to find her baby photos, she said yes they are in the album. When I asked her do you know where the other ones are? She replied your phone? The ones that are printed were the only ones she knew how to find. Having a printed record is so important for kids with so much in the digital world that they will have no idea where to find things but they will know exactly where to find the printed tangible images. This is why I include both because its not just about knowing where to find them but about the connection with my daughter when she wants to hear the story about when she was born and how excited we were to have her join our family.
